A video I made of NYC’s famous Coney Island in the late 2000s.

Coney Island is the last stop in Brooklyn on the F train, along with a few other trains, and since I grew up by the F line in Brooklyn, I’ve always thought of Coney Island that way.

The idea for this video came from my dad, Mark Statman, who was working with Pablo Medina on an English translation of Federico García Lorca’s Poeta en Nueva York at the time, and was interested to see what it would look like to make a movie of Coney Island in 2007, inspired by Lorca’s poem Paisaje de la multitud que vomita (Anochecer en Coney Island) from 1929.
