Last time I visited NYC, I was horrified to find out about the recent demolitions of a number of apartment buildings in Chinatown to build a fascistic “super-prison” in the place of where now-displaced working class Asian-American families had been living for generations.

At the same time, I wasn’t exactly surprised, since this is a continuation of the ongoing violence against the multi-racial working class that I know all too well from having grown up in NYC and having been priced out of the city in early adulthood. These horrors will continue as long as people are too afraid or too “self-interested” to organize together, build together, and fight back.
