Raridades: El Bol de Xóchi

Hey, I hope your week’s going well so far!

Raridades: El Bol de Xóchi is out today. This is the last in the series my friend Kléo and I have been compiling over the past year or so in going through the archives of my work that my parents had been kindly storing in their home.

There’s a lot of variety on Raridades – some of the tracks are bare bones acoustic folk-punkish demos recorded on cassette, including some from my first band The Band Of The Land in 2002-’04, and others I made in the early 2010s – others are never-before-heard songs with a conventional rock and roll arrangement, sometimes with me playing all the instruments – and there are some rare live recordings of songs you might be more familiar with, along with some totally experimental stuff.

I hope you enjoy the album! Stay safe out there, and don’t forget to support my friend Tasneem and her family if you can – they’re still relying entirely on our donations to survive: https://gofundme.com/f/help-tasneem-and-her-kids

And remember that Tasneem and her family will be really happy and incredibly grateful for any support, as they’ve been suffering through the horrors of a war of annihilation for years now. The recent ceasefire agreement hasn’t brought much peace for her either, as the occupation forces have once again taken to continuously violating the ceasefire, and she and her family are still unhoused due to their home in Rafah having been destroyed along with over 80% of their neighbors’ homes. They still rely entirely on our donations to survive as there are no opportunities for work and they are still unhoused.

A new poster that my friend Tasneem sent me this morning to help raise money for her family’s survival. If you have access to a printer, feel free to print these out and share them with friends and businesses who might be interested in helping Tasneem and her kids.
A photo Tasneem sent me earlier this year of her three children – to the right is Alma, her youngest daughter, who was badly injured last month by a piece of glass that fell on her head while she was sleeping.
